What is laughing gas sedation?

Ventura nitrous oxide sedation uses a gas that you breathe in via a mask that fits over your nose. The nitrous oxide is combined with oxygen. You’ll breathe the nitrous oxide in, and it takes effect within minutes. While you won’t necessarily feel giggly, you should feel calm and relaxed throughout your procedure. Though you’re awake, you may not remember all the details of your appointment.

The process for administering Nitrous Oxide

We’ll have you breathe in the nitrous oxide when it’s time to begin your procedure. When your treatment is complete, you’ll breathe oxygen for a few minutes to flush the remaining nitrous oxide from your system.

What to expect after using Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Most patients feel normal once the nitrous oxide leaves their system and are able to drive themselves home.

How does laughing gas sedation improve your oral health?

Many patients forgo important dental treatments because they experience dental anxiety or have concerns about feeling pain and discomfort during the procedure. Nitrous oxide sedation in Ventura helps patients feel comfortable and at ease throughout their dental procedure. This makes it possible for them to get the dental care that they need for optimal oral health.

Assume that you have a small cavity. You hate needles and drills, so you put off treating the cavity. The cavity grows larger until it affects your tooth’s nerve-rich pulp. Now, your small cavity requires a root canal and crown. Using nitrous oxide sedation in Ventura to make you feel more at ease about getting your cavity filled decreases its effects on your teeth and mouth by allowing you to take care of the problem early. Treating dental problems in their early stages minimizes the impact of the issue on your oral health; it’s also less expensive and takes less time to treat minor dental problems than severe dental issues.

What are the benefits of laughing gas sedation?

Ventura nitrous oxide has several advantages that make it ideal for our patients:

Nitrous Oxide is safe to use

Nitrous oxide is a safe solution for pain management during your dental treatment. Since you’re awake during the procedure, nitrous oxide doesn’t have the risks that are associated with deeper levels of sedation.

The effects of Nitrous Oxide wear off within minutes

Once you stop breathing in the nitrous oxide, it only takes a few minutes for the gas to leave your body. You won’t feel groggy or disoriented, and you can resume many of your normal activities that same day as your procedure.

Your procedure will be quicker

Nitrous oxide sedation in Ventura enables patients to remain comfortable and cooperative during their dental treatments. This helps us complete the procedure as quickly as possible.

Laughing Gas

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is used to reduce pain, anxiety, and discomfort during a dental procedure. We recommend nitrous oxide sedation in Ventura to patients who have dental-related fears or want an alternative option for controlling pain during their procedure.
